REGISTRATION FAQ'S
I see there is a discount for 2nd and additional children playing, how do I do this?
Mail all forms together selecting the discounted rate on additional forms.
If first child has allready been registered, note that childs name on the "Notes" line along with the text "Additional child"
Online registrations automatically take the discount off of multiple registrations when they are completed together. There is a selection after entering the players information and before credit card information is requested to "Register additional players". If you have children in both Travel and Rec., and register them at different times you can take the discount on the later mailed in registrations and note the siblings name on the forms you take the discount on.
I missed the registration deadline, can I still register?
Every effort is made to allow everyone ample time to register. While some registrations are accepted after the deadline and with the Late Fee payment, there can be no guarantee of placement on a team after the deadline. Players will be placed on a waiting list for any available openings prior to the start of the season. Late fees are non-refundable except in the event we are unable to place the child on a team.
I sent my registration in before the deadline, and see the check has not cleared and we have not heard anything, did you get it?
Sometimes the checks are not deposited immediately. The registration process takes time as all the registration data is compiled into a database, coaches must be assigned and then teams formed. In most cases you will hear nothing until your child's coach calls several weeks before the season begins. Spring 2009 calls from coaches will be made in early April.
When are the practices and games?
Practices dates and times are determined after teams are formed. Practice for Rec. teams are about an hour long and usually once a week. Rec. games are played on Saturday mornings at various field locations with the exception of League 4 which plays on Friday evenings.
What happens if my child decides he/she does not want to play?
Cancellation requests can be made directly to the Registrar and mailed to PO Box 2375 Shelton, or sent by email to the registrar via the web site. Email cancellation requests will be acknowledged within 24 hours. Refunds are issued if cancellations are made before the child participates in any games and before the second week.
When does the Spring 2009 Season start?
Early in April for all leagues.
What equipment do I need to purchase?
An SYSO orange/white reversible jersey is required and can be purchased at Blanchette's Sporting goods on Bridgeport Ave. In addition, shin guards and socks high enough to cover them. Soccer cleats are option and recommended.
